Film Festival Announcement:

We are proud to announce that "Triptych" with Michael Greyeyes from the aboriginal series titled "Dancing with Spirit" has won the GOLDEN SHEAF AWARD for "Best Performing Arts Film" at the prestigious Yorkton Film Festival ! It was also selected to be shown at the Cowichan International Aboriginal Film Festival in Duncan, B.C.

We are proud to announce that two (2) episodes from the "Dancing with Spirit" series titled "Dancers from the Great Plains" (episode #3) and "Triptych" (episode #6) was shown at this year's Dreamspeakers Film Festival in Edmonton, Alberta.

Soaring Heart Pictures is excited and proud to share our great news to you that we have received THREE (3) Gemini Award Nominations for our six-part Aboriginal Series titled "Dancing with Spirit". See videos below:

Byron McKim receives TWO (2) Gemini Nominations for BEST DIRECTION in a Performing Arts Program for " HERE on EARTH"  and " TRIPTYCH".

Santee Smith, Brian Solomon, Emily Law and Alex Meraz receives a Gemini Nomination for BEST ENSEMBLE  PERFORMANCE in a Performing Arts Program for " Here on Earth"

Both programs are extraordinary dance pieces created by extremely talented aboriginal choreographers & performers! It is a tribute to these Native Artist to be recognized by the Academy.

Twilight: New Moon - Alex Meraz

Twilight: New Moon's success has catapulted  actor ALEX MERAZ who plays one of the wolves in the Wolf Pack in the movie to new levels. Alex is also a very successful dancer and I had the pleasure of working with him in the Soaring Heart Pictures dance production of "Here on Earth" that we filmed in the summer of 2007 for our series "Dancing with Spirit". The program is available on DVD  and features Alex throughout the dance program in only a buckskin loin cloth. Own your copy today!
